Bina Shah is a Pakistani novelist and columnist. She has published four novels and two collections of short stories. Her upcoming novel A SEASON FOR MARTYRS is to be published by Delphinium Books in 2014. She is a popular columnist and writes regularly for the Dawn and international publications the Independent, Sampsonia Way, and She contributes literary fiction and essays regularly and has been published in the Guardian,, the International Herald Tribune, the Times of India, and Critical Muslim. She has taught writing at SZABIST University and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Education for Sindh, a DFID-UK funded education project. She writes a popular blog, 21st Century Woman, on issues of gender, Pakistan, the Muslim world, and issues of cultural diversity that is syndicated by Al-Bawba media organization in the Middle East. She is a fellow of the University of Iowa’s International Writers Program and Hong Kong Baptist University’s International Writers Workshop.
